Catedral Primada, Bogota

This cathedral is Roman Catholic church that was built in 1807 and completed on 1823. The cathedral holds the remains of the founder of Bogota. the cathedral is opened daily except Mondays and visitors are asked to be silent and be dressed respectfully. It is the seat of the Archbishop, Cardinal Mon. Pedro Rubiano. Its walls contain remains of national heroes.

1.) When was it built?
    - The construction of the theater started in 1944 and was legally finished and opened its doors in 1982, in which the construction took approximately 38 years to complete.

2.) Who built it?
    - The architects of the theater were Enrique Zeizel, Angelo Magagna and Mario Lignarolo.

3.) Why was it built?
    - The theater was built with the idea to create a cultural custom that distinguished them. 

4.) How big or how high is it?
    - It has the capacity to fit 949 people.

5.) Any interesting features or events connected to the landmark?
    - It was inaugurated by the president Julio Cesar Turbay Ayala with the Canadian ballet Eddy Toussaint.

6.) Any famous people connected to the landmark?
    - The theater was named after Amira De La Rosa who is the writer of the national anthem.

1.) When was it built?
    - It was created on August 1964, and the construction finished in 1944.

2.) Who built it?
    - Alfanso Lopez Pumarejo is the architect of the bridge (the bridge was named after him).

3.) Why was it built?
    - With the use of the Pumarejo Bridge it made it the easiest way for Venezuela and Barranquilla to have commercial trade.

4.) How big or how high is it?
    - The bridge is 1500 meters long and 12.50 meters high.

5.) Any interesting features or events connected to the landmark?
    - It was built over the Magdalena River to connect the island of Salamanca and the city of Barranquilla

6.) Any famous people connected to the landmark?
    - Although there are no famous people who are connected to the bridge it is famous in itself because with this bridge it provides easy communication to other parts of the country.

    -The December 5, 1955 they started the construction of the cathedral De Barranquilla, and took approximately 27 years to complete.

2.) Who built it?
    - Angelo Mazzoni De Grande is the architect of the cathedral.

3.) Why was it built?
    - Its was built in dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

4.)How big or how high is it?
    - The building measures to be 4.274 square meters, 92 meters long, and 38 meters high, and has the capacity to hold up to 4,000 people.

5.)Any interesting features or events connected to the landmark?
    - The first priest of the church was George Becerra Jimenez.

6.)Any famous people connected to the landmark?
    - The Pope John Paul the second visited the cathedral.

Centro de Comercio Internacional, Bogota

This building is known as the second tallest building in Bogota, Colombia. Standing at 623/ft with 50 floors and 17 elevators. It has some offices of Davivienda Bank and it is beside the largest skyscraper in Colombia, Torre Colpatria. When it was first built it was called Centro Las Americas.The whole front of the building is screened by glass and the building has a great open space in the entrance. It's construction started on 1974 and finished on 1977. During that time it was considered the largest building in Latin America until the Torre Colpatria was built.

Cartagena - Estadio Jaime Moron Leon

1. When was it built?
It was built in 1958 as a multiuse stadium. Real Cartagena, football (soccer) team, plays its home games there. It was named after Jaime Moron Leon, who was Cartagena footballer. Before it was named after Pedro de Heredia.
2. Who built it?
There is no known builder of the stadium. It was built in 1958 and then redone in 2011 for the FIFA under 20 World Cup.
3. Why was it built?
It was built to use as a soccer stadium, but now can be used for others things.
4. How big or how high is it?
The stadium can seat up to 17,000 people, which is small for a stadium. It has natural grass and since its been redone it has been modernized with new technology. The stadium is colored yellow and green, which is the same as the Cartagena flag.
5. Any interesting events or features connected with the landmark?
The stadium has had many events, including 1960 National Games, XX Central American and Caribbean Games, 2011 World Cup Under 20.
6. Any famous people connected to the landmark?
Jaime Moron Leon is connected to the landmark. The stadium has been named after him since 2007. Leon has won two titles with Bogota club Millionarios.

Cartagena - Las Bovedas

Las Bovedas

1. When was it built?
 Las Bovedas was built from 1792 to 1796, during colonial times. Las Bovedas or The Vaults were dungeons located between the forts of Santa Clara and Santa Catalina.

2. Who built it?
There is no known architect of the Las Bovedas, but it was used by the Spaniards.

3. Why was it built?
It was built to store munition and provisions, but during the civil wars it was used as prisons. Today, it is a market place.

4. How big or how high is it?
The Las Bovedas are the last construction project in colonial times. They have 23 dungeons stored inside. They are located behind the city walls which are 15m thick.

5. Any interesting features or events connected to this landmark?
The Las Bovedas was featured in Burn! It was a prison and is now a tourist market.

6. Any famous people connected to this landmark?
The film the Las Bovedas starred in Burn! was directed by Gillo Pontecorvo and stared Marlon Brando.
